A streamlined 17-level cascaded H-bridge multilevel converter with solar PV integration

The quest for a green electrical power system has increased the use of renewable energy resources and electronic converters in existing system. These converters, however, are major cause harmonics result degradation quality. In last two decades, researchers have proposed various designs multilevel to minimize these harmonic distortions, comprehensive solution stand-alone solar photovoltaic (PV) systems with low total distortion (THD) is still missing present body knowledge. This paper proposes single-phase 17-level cascaded H-bridge converter (CHMC) model using PV arrays. employs eight different flexible arrays that can be replaced DC voltage sources when required meet load demand. does not include any capacitor filter thus saving lot cost overall been implemented Simulink environment model-based design approach. simulation results show reduced THD almost 7% as compared models. comparison also proved its economic benefit over other types.
